The neighborhood meeting for this project was held on Monday, May 12, beginning at 6 p.m. with an overview of the project, including the location, concept, elevations, and floor plans. The question-and-answer portion of the meeting lasted approximately one hour and 45 minutes.
Public comments were mixed. Supportive comments highlighted the project's proposed density, noting that the downtown area, being close to transit, is an appropriate location for higher density. Supporters also appreciated the potential to attract high-end retail and customers to the downtown area.
Other commenters expressed the following concerns:
∙ The building height should be reduced to better match the scale of surrounding structures.
∙ The design should be revised to include more architectural character and reflect the historic context of downtown and Draper University.
∙ Lack of onsite parking.
∙ Potential traffic impacts due to the proposed driveway location on S. El Camino Real.
The meeting concluded shortly after 8 p.m., with 33 members of the public in attendance. The link to the meeting recording has been posted to the project's What's Happening page .
