Mayor’s Hero Award

At the Oct. 7th City Council session, I was thrilled to present my 3rd Mayor’s Quarterly Hero Award to Lindsay Raike, the founder of Warm Water Wellness. Lindsay and her fellow advocates built a powerful grassroots effort that resulted in the reopening of our

beloved Mack E. Mickelson Arthritis & Rehabilitation Pool. These relentless volunteers worked with the community to demonstrate the critical health value of the pool to people of all ages. They ultimately forged a partnership with Sutter Health to restore and

reopen the pool in August 2024. Congrats to Lindsay and the community!

Carey School Visit

I was thrilled to welcome over 40 second-graders from @thecareyschool and their

teachers @glennheuser and @shayshay_wheeler to @cityofsanmateo and #Sanmateo 

City Hall. I was so impressed by all the great questions asked. My question to the

students: how many of you will serve as Mayor of San Mateo one day???
