Friends and Neighbors,

Your ballot for the November 3 election should arrive any day.  While there are 14 pages of initiatives, there is one clear choice who has the experience, relationships and skills to lead District 1 and San Mateo through the next 4 challenging years:

Vote to re-elect Lisa Diaz Nash for San Mateo City Council District 1

I have walked over 6,000 miles all over San Mateo these past 4 years in my “NASH” cap, listening to your issues, solving your problems, sharing your stories.  Together, we have laughed, cried, raged and celebrated as we work shoulder to shoulder to make San Mateo the best that it can be.

Together, we have made meaningful progress improving our quality of life by:

  • Filling nearly 3,500 potholes, completely rebuilding over 20 miles of streets, and expanding traffic calming techniques to keep you safer and save you money on car repairs.

  • Revitalizing Downtown San Mateo and rebuilding Central Park Playground into what will be a regional destination.

  • Strengthening protections over small cell infrastructure and banning gas leaf blowers to protect our health, improve the environment and reduce stress.

  • Approving hundreds of affordable homes for our seniors, workforce and future generations

  • Advocating on San Mateo’s behalf to fight Sacramento for our ~$13 million in Vehicle License Fee reimbursement and ensure the Horizon detox center can deliver its critical services in the best location for its clients and our neighbors.

  • Securing nearly $30 million in State and Federal grants to reduce traffic, improve pedestrian and cyclist safety and work to establish San Mateo as a Train Quiet Zone.

  • Overseeing a $174 million budget, reducing bureaucracy and unnecessary spending (~$6 million to date) to save you time and ensure your tax dollars are spent effectively on the services that matter most to you - public safety, infrastructure and our beautiful parks and open spaces.

I am honored to have the endorsement of International Firefighters Local 2400 and San Mateo Police Officers Association as a fierce protector of our 911 services.  I am grateful for the San Mateo Daily Journal endorsement of me as “always seeking a win for all or at least a win for most.”  As your full-time Councilmember, I will continue to use my experience, skills and relationships to fight for your interests during these dynamic, difficult times.

I would be honored to earn your vote by November 3rd to continue “getting things done” for District 1 and San Mateo! Thank you so much,
